The Big Thwomp has to hit two rows of Cement Blocks for Mario to get the last Coin.

After a moment, Roy will return and shoot a ball of magic, which Mario must also avoid. He will then perform a shell attack, which Mario must avoid. While this makes it easier, Mario can also stomp him while he is charging with a well-timed jump. Mario can take this chance to hit Roy by jumping on his head. However, if Mario can bait Roy into hitting either wall, he collides with it and become dizzy temporarily. Roy charges at Mario at first, and changes directions if he misses. The boss battle plays out similar to his boss battle in Super Mario World, with the walls of the room slowly becoming narrower every time Roy is hit.

A Super Leaf can be found in a hidden block to the right wall of the boss door. A Big Thwomp then appears, followed by the boss door. Mario now has to rope-swing and avoid the Thwomps at the same time. An area full of Thwomps comes after, and more rope-swinging, rising and sinking platforms, and Lava Bubbles. Mario will then have to rope-swing to the other platform. A Coin Block, which can be changed into a Gold Block, can be found along with the ? Block containing the power-up. Rising and sinking platforms, Dry Bones and more Lava Bubbles then appears, followed by the checkpoint. A ? Block containing a Super Leaf can be found next, followed by more Lava Bubbles and rope climbing. First off, Mario needs to climb a rope on the ceiling while avoiding the moving spiked platforms and walls, and also Lava Bubbles and the lava.
